The Smithfield Stubby needlefish by 247 is inspired by the Habs style needlefish that have been a favorite of surfcasters for decades. Coming in at around 1.5 oz, this needlefish has a slightly faster sink rate than the 7” and 9” needlefish from 247 and can be more useful in faster currents or deeper locations. This model will also cast well in headwinds.
A nice, slow and steady retrieve is recommended. Adding a tap or twitch to your rod during retrieve can add a subtle move to entice a strike.
Equipped with a single VMC treble belly hook. The tail loop is presented with a hand tied matching flag (no hook).
