Japanese Wrap Shrink Tube for Rod Grips

from $17.99
Japanese shrink wrap or "Jap Wrap" as it's called by some, is well suited for covering blanks and poles. Can also be used to apply over existing grips. The material is durable, strong and soft to the touch. The wall thickness after shrinking is 1.5 to 2.2 mm.
Sold in 1 meter lengths (approx. 40 in.)

Helpful tips:
  • Surface must be clean and degreased - apply little epoxy glue or double sided tape on blank
  • Use a gas torch or heat gun to shrink - be sure to keep some space between heat source and tube. Heat the area evenly and be patient while the tubing shrinks.
  • Expect some length loss so take some overlength and cut to desired length after shrinking
  • Maximum shrinkage is about 45% - choose a diameter as close as possible to the blank or handle thickness
