A truly unique heavy duty device for holding rod and reel - or just the rod. The "Reel Grabber" secures the rod when inserted with flexible fingers that won't allow the rod to slide up or down through the roughest boat or beach buggy bouncing. In addition, when a spinning reel is attached to the rod, the two ears on the top of the cap actually toe over the reel stem and hold it securely from bouncing or turning. When used with conventional reels, the two ears position themselves between the spool and reel foot, again preventing the rod and reel from rotating. The soft rubber material cushions the rod and reel to prevent scratching and marring the most delicate or expensive equipment.
New to the part is a rib on the inside which acts as a stop during install and allows more flex in the rubber during usage.
These are made to fit all past rod racks built by The Surfcaster, as well as any tube with a 2” outer diameter.
